Frequently asked questions
How long will counselling last?
That is always your choice and also depends on the type of issue and service you choose. I am able to work in a short term or longer term deeper way, to commit to longer-term therapy. The relationship between therapist and client will be safe, but sometimes challenging to create movement, enabling you to look at the issues and feelings you want to, at your own pace and over the time span that feels right for you so it’s important that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable.
This can be discussed and agreed between you and your counsellor. Counselling can be a rewarding experience, but also a challenging one,
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Counselling remains confidential between counsellor and client. With the exception of rare circumstances, where the client may be at risk of hurting themselves or another person where the counsellor is abound by a code of ethics to break confidentiality.
Do you need to be mentally ill to have counselling?
No. It doesn’t mean you are weak or mad Congratulations It means you’re taking control of your life, by seeking help which takes courage.
