Various therapies I provide
Counselling & Psychotherapy
While a psychotherapist is qualified to provide counselling, a counsellor may or may not possess the necessary training and skills to provide psychotherapy.
Counselling
Counselling is a space you to talk about what's bothering you in order to uncover any root causes and identify your specific ways of thinking. It can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes, helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues to help you to find ways of coping. In general, counselling is recommended for specific issues and situations, such as addiction or grief you'll be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions and be listened to and supported without being judged or criticised.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction, to help a person change behaviour, increase happiness, and overcome problems. psychotherapy tends to explore past issues that might be contributing to present day problems. Its focus is on the person's thought processes, and how these may be influenced by past events such that they cause problems in the present. psychotherapy addresses the root cause and core issues of current problems so that lasting change and personal growth may occur.
CBT
Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on changing the automatic negative thoughts that can contribute to and worsen emotional difficulties, depression, and anxiety. These spontaneous negative thoughts have a detrimental influence on mood. It looks to combine both cognitive therapy and behavioural therapy in order to tackle the thought process and the resulting behaviour. Questioning your thoughts & behaviour patterns on the present, CBT is a practical therapy that aims to break down problems into smaller, more manageable issues. This therapy is especially useful for those with more specific problems as it addresses each emotion separately.
Psychodynamic
The psychodynamic approach is guided by the core principle that the unconscious mind harbours deep-rooted feelings and memories that can affect our behaviour. All behaviour has an underlying cause. The causes of a person's behaviour originate in their unconscious. The aim of psychodynamic therapy is to bring the unconscious mind into consciousness - helping individuals to unravel, experience and understand their true, deep-rooted feelings in order to resolve them. It takes the view that our unconscious holds onto painful feelings and memories, which are too difficult for the conscious mind to process. In order to ensure these memories and experiences stay below the surface, many people will develop defences, such as denial and projections. According to psychodynamic therapy, these defences will often do more harm than good.
Coaching
A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. Supporting clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities: this can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions. By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers. A life coach won’t tell you what to do (chances are you already know the answer!) but what they will do is provide an objective and empowering environment, rather than instruction or indoctrination. At the heart of it all lies the idea that clients must be given the power to help themselves.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness has been shown to help people with mental and physical health problems, from stress, anxiety and depression to chronic pain, eating disorders and concentration. It can also improve productivity at work, and help people to enjoy their lives more. It is not meditation or clearing the mind – it is more about a person looking at how they feel and think about their experiences and reacting to stressful situations – in a way that helps them to be mentally healthy. Mindfulness is a tool people can use to look at the way they feel and think about experiences and their lives. It can be used by people of all ages and from all backgrounds and is proving to be an effective way for people to cope with the pressures of life. Mindfulness based stress reduction has proven to be an effective way to help people cope with stress and mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT), is a National Institute for Health and Care Excellence recommended treatment for recurrent depression.

Hypnosis

Ericksonian hypnotherapy is the term used to describe a specific type of hypnosis recognisable by the use of indirect suggestion and metaphor.
Energy Healing
Energy therapies are alternative therapies that aim to create a state of balance, health and peace in a person. Distant healing, or remote healing, is a technique for affecting another person even if they are many miles away. It is simple enough that anyone can do it. All you need is a strong, sincere intention to heal others and the patience to achieve the meditative state required for healing. Reiki aims to change and balance the energy fields in and around your body.
Acupressure
Acupressure is a specific type of massage that relies primarily on using the thumbs, fingers and palms to apply pressure to various points on the body. is an alternative medicine technique similar in principle to acupuncture. It is based on the concept of life energy which flows through "meridians" in the body.
